Eurocold needs to warmth up Oz’s refrigerated electrical truck market

The country’s first fully integrated electric refrigerated truck fleet supplier Revora has launched today in Sydney.

Refrigeration manufacturer Eurocold officially launched its local arm Revora today at the Fully Charged Live show. It’ll display its first refrigerated electric truck at May’s Brisbane Truck Show.

“Revora is a completely separate and new brand to Eurocold – aimed at future-proofing the sustainability of the refrigerated transport industry,” said founder and managing director Avraam Solomon.

“Revora will be Australia’s first fully integrated, electric refrigerated truck fleet supplier.”

The company says it wants to provide not only trucks, but also charging and data solutions.

The zero-emission refrigerated trucks are primarily aimed at businesses who perform last-mile deliveries.

“EVs are particularly well suited to urban and stop-start tasks,” said general manager Nathan Gore-Brown.

“This is down to their ability to recapture energy through regenerative braking. Typically, the refrigerated transport industry has a large portion of the fleet running last mile delivery and that’s where electric trucks excel.

Revora has developed a program that will assess a firm’s suitability for electric vehicles, and then provide trucks on a long-term lease.

Components for the trucks will be sourced from operators in Australia and internationally, and the trucks will be assembled in Brisbane.

The company says that as a result of companies having access to an electrified fleet they are able to extend their operating times later into the night due to less noise congestion when compared to diesel trucks.

Electric trucks will also allow businesses to access enclosed delivery docks and buildings without causing unnecessary air-pollution to dock workers.
