Europe deal alert: Flights to Copenhagen, Milan and Paris for as little as $355 round-trip

The holidays are over, so it’s time to start planning your spring getaways. Scandinavian Airlines is currently offering some excellent prices on flights to Europe from a number of American cities.

The sale includes travel from major cities like Boston, Chicago and New York to several top destinations in Europe, such as Amsterdam, Milan, Paris and Stockholm.

This deal is mainly for travel between February and May of this year, which means you can still catch the tail end of winter in Europe. However, there are a few routes with discounted prices for travel in late summer all the way through October, too.

As is the case with most of these types of travel deals, this sale involves economy tickets. On SAS, that means you get a free carry-on bag, but checking a bag will cost as much as $210, so if you’re a traveler who packs heavy, keep that in mind when searching for an itinerary. Also, know that most of the sale fares we found involved flights with layovers, including some overnight stays.

Sample flights

Let’s start with this fantastic deal for a trip to Milan. If you live in Boston, you can fly out of Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Italy’s Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) in late March for just $378 round-trip. That’s about half the price you normally would expect to pay for this route in the spring.

Keep in mind that this itinerary involves an overnight layover in Copenhagen, SAS’ hub. But hey, that’s not a bad city to have 24 hours to enjoy.

Another good deal on a nonstop flight we found was from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Copenhagen Airport (CPH) in February for $378 round-trip. Again, it’s an economy ticket, so packing light will save you money on a checked bag.

Remember how we mentioned above that this sale also had a few bargains for late-summer travel? You can fly out of the New York City area (EWR) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) for only $357 round-trip in late August. Note that the return trip involves a 12-hour layover in Stockholm, but again, at this low price, it’s worth it.
