The Mach X 2’s increased rocker profile and extended Pebax® plate bring the heat to speedwork
HOKA, a division of Deckers Brands (NYSE: DECK), is excited to introduce the latest version of its high-propulsion daily trainer, the Mach X 2, designed specifically for runners.

The Mach X 2 is an enhanced version of the original Mach X, offering a faster and smoother ride. It features a higher stack height, additional PEBA foam, and an upgraded winged plate design, all while being lighter overall. Drawing inspiration from the race-ready geometry of the Cielo X1, HOKA has incorporated an extra-resilient PEBA-topped midsole and increased rocker profile to deliver a more aggressive toe-off. Additionally, the shoe is equipped with an extended Pebax® plate for improved support and propulsion.

Innovating for the 2024 lineup, the Mach X 2 incorporates enhanced PEBA foam for increased energy return, while featuring winglets along the full-length Pebax® plate to provide targeted support and control. This novel plate design is situated between a PEBA foam top layer and a supercritical EVA bottom layer. The SCF EVA midsole integrates underfoot cutouts to reduce weight, and the zonal outsole, made of sticky rubber, ensures consistent traction throughout the duration of use.
The updated upper of the Mach X 2 provides the shoe with a lighter weight and improved breathability. This new lightweight woven textile is combined with a streamlined gusseted tongue and a collar construction inspired by racing, resulting in a supportive fit. Additionally, the addition of reflective details enhances visibility, making it possible for runners to maintain their pace at any time of the day or night.
HOKA is set to release a campaign film in conjunction with the debut of the Mach X 2, featuring the compelling story of two runners who transform a routine training session into an exhilarating speed-driven challenge. Through captivating visuals, the film vividly portrays the unmatched speed and propulsion of the Mach X 2, while emphasizing how embracing the courage to push one’s limits can infuse any workout with a sense of achievement and elation.
