Former BTN Group VP of sales Lindsay Straub has joined FCM
as its global head of sales, the travel management company announced.
With the appointment, which is effective immediately, Straub
will work with FCM regional sales leaders around the world to drive customer
growth while working on strategies to optimize sales with FCM, according to the
company. She is based in New York and reports to FCM global managing director
Marcus Eklund.
Straub is replacing London-based Alex Armstrong, who last
year was promoted to FCM’s global SVP of commercial strategy, a spokesperson
said.
FCM said it currently is experiencing “exponential
growth” and is building marketshare. “Straub will look to step in and
capitalize on this recent momentum to spearhead additional growth and set the
business up for even more success going forward,” Eklund said in a
statement.
Straub was a part of the BTN Group from February 2013 until
last month, and she led planning and execution of several of the group’s
events, helped launched new digital and content products and played a pivotal role
in BTN’s expansion into the UK, Europe and Asia.
Additionally, FCM parent company Flight Centre Travel
Group’s SME-focused Corporate Traveler this week announced that it has hired Kimberly
Sweeney as VP of marketing in the U.S. Sweeney, who most recently was an SVP at
global technology company Markaaz, will be leading the TMC’s marketing
strategies and also work on such initiatives as increasing adoption of
Corporate Traveler’s online booking platform Melon. Sweeney also will be based
in New York and report to Corporate Traveler USA president John Van den Heuvel
and Corporate Traveler SVP of global marketing Claire Harrington.
