When it comes to hunting throughout the United States for medium- and big-game animals our legislators construct odd rules for us to abide by. Without making this a political discussion, many states allow for straight-wall cartridges and do not let hunters utilize shouldered-case rounds. Be that as it may, ammunition manufacturers are constantly looking to create new cartridges to make more effective rounds for hunting (and to stay in step with current laws). So, Remington Ammunition set out to create one of the best straight-wall cartridges to date for hunting by unveiling the 360 Buckhammer round.

The new 360 Buckhammer cartridge from Remington Ammunition deploys common 0.358″ diameter bullets (think of .357 Magnum) and it outperforms the most common, popular straight-wall cartridges people are bringing into the woods with them. Lonoke, Arkansas – Remington Ammunition has announced the introduction of a revolutionary new cartridge, 360 Buckhammer. A Straight Up Better straight wall cartridge, 360 Buckhammer is optimized for lever-action rifles, deadly and accurate out to 200-yards or more.
The ultimate straight-wall cartridge, 360 Buckhammer will be available to hunters nationwide with lever action and single shot rifles available from launch partner Henry Repeating Arms. The new ammunition will be initially available in two new Core-Lokt loads, with more ammunition options to follow.

At the outset, Remington is producing two offerings in 360 Buckhammer through their legendary Core-Lokt line of ammunition (180 Grain or 200 Grain for $36.99). Their partner in ammunition production, Federal Ammunition, is also making 360 Buckhammer rounds with a 180 Grain and 200 Grain Jacketed Soft Point (JSP) available in Federal Power-Shok for $36.99 per box of 20 rounds as well.
