Finnair has opened a new lounge in Helsinki Airport for passengers on international flights to destinations inside the 27 countries that make up Europe’s Schengen Area, with seating for up to 440 customers, the carrier announced Tuesday.
The lounge features a “platinum corner” for Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo members. Business Class Classic and Flex ticket holders, as well as Finnair Plus Gold members have complimentary access to the lounge, according to the carrier. Lounge access also can be purchased.
The lounge also can accommodate U.S. travelers who are connecting in Helsinki to onward travel “to Finnish Lapland and the wider Nordic and Baltic region,” per the carrier. Otherwise, passengers flying to and from the U.S. can “continue to enjoy access to Finnair’s Platinum Wing and Business Lounge in the non-Schengen area of Helsinki Airport.”
