Focused spending gives on Chase bank cards — The Factors Man

Editor’s note: This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

Chase is running a new set of offers that could yield up to 5 points per dollar on your spending. These are targeted offers, meaning not everyone will be eligible.

These offers are available for common spending categories, meaning you should be able to use them quite easily.

Here’s a look at the offers we’re seeing on Chase credit cards and how to check if you’re eligible.

Limited-time bonuses: Check if you’re targeted

If you’re targeted for these offers, you can earn 5 points (or miles) per dollar spent at gas stations, grocery stores, internet services, cable services and phone services.

Go to this link to see if any of your cards are targeted. You’ll need to check each card individually. Not everyone will be targeted for every offer, and it’s worth mentioning that we are seeing fewer people targeted than in previous versions of Chase’s spending offers. If you see this message, your card isn’t eligible for these bonuses.

You may be able to earn 5 points per dollar at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants (on up to $1,500 of spending) from April 1 to June 30.

This same offer is available in multiple credit card families, such as Hyatt (above) and United Airlines (below).

We’ve also seen the same offer on Southwest Airlines credit cards.

IHG credit cardholders may be able to earn 7 points per dollar at gas stations and restaurants and 5 points per dollar at grocery stores. This targeted offer is valid on up to $1,500 in total purchases.

Another offer provides 5,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 or more on purchases from April 1 to June 30.

For additional spending, there’s an offer of 6,000 bonus miles after spending $6,000 from April 1 to June 30.

We haven’t seen offers on personal credit cards that earn cash back or Ultimate Rewards points or on small business credit cards. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check back (and often) to see what offers may be available on your credit cards to earn bonus points on your purchases.

Reminder: Other current offers

Remember that Chase Freedom (no longer open to new applicants) and Chase Freedom Flex cardholders can earn 5% back at Amazon and Lowe’s this quarter. This applies to the first $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories from April 1 until June 30. You’ll need to activate this offer to enjoy the bonus earnings.

And Chase’s partnership with Lyft isn’t new, but Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders can continue to earn 10 points per dollar on Lyft rides and get complimentary Lyft Pink status. Those with the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Chase Freedom (no longer open to new applicants), Chase Freedom Flex, Chase Freedom Unlimited and all Ink Business credit cards can earn 5 points per dollar. This partnership runs through March 2025.

Plus, depending on your card, you can get anywhere from $10 per quarter to $15 per month in statement credits for Instacart purchases. That’s on top of receiving anywhere from 3 to 12 months of complimentary Instacart+, again depending on which Chase card you have.

Bottom line

With several ways to earn bonus points and miles across certain Chase cards, it is definitely worth a few seconds of your time to check your eligibility and register. Remember to check each card individually and activate any available offers before spending in those categories.
