Take2Eton Group has named former Corporate Travel Management sales executive Shelley Mathews as its chief commercial officer, a newly created role at the U.K.-based travel management company.
In the role, which she began on Jan. 1, Mathews is leading Take2Eton’s sales and marketing strategy and is in charge of the TMC’s sales, marketing and bid-writing teams, according to the TMC. She reports to Take2Eton CEO James Parkhouse, who took the company reins from TakeTwo founder Chris Thelen last October as Thelen moved to the chairman role for the group.
Mathews has worked for 20 years in the business travel industry, most recently serving as CTM’s EVP of sales for nine years. She previously was head of sales at U.K. TMC ATPI for six years.
Thelen, who previously was CTM’s North America CEO, and former CTM general manager of the U.K. Julie Cope founded TakeTwo in 2021 and expanded into the U.S. shortly thereafter. It rebranded into Take2Eton Group last year, building from its acquisition of Eton Travel Group in 2022.
Thelen said he would be “collaborating on customer growth and retention” with Mathews, as they are “the two areas of the business that I am still very much involved with.”
