Sometimes, you just need a little inspiration before you hit the trails. Or better yet, some beta if you are looking to quench your wanderlust and run abroad.
This short independent film by Freetrail, Goldwin, and Ryan Thrower (employee at Japanese brand Goldwin) solves both of those needs swimmingly.
He’s there with ultrarunner Dylan Bowman for the Izu Trail 70k Journey, one of Japan’s premier trail races. Of course, they’re also there for the food, foliage, forests, mountains, and views of Mt. Fuji along the way.
From the plane to the train to the bustling city of 14 million (Tokyo), and finally, to the trails, this film gives you a good glimpse into how to visit — and run — Japan.
Whether or not you go to race, and whether or not you do, it’s ultimately just about enjoying the trails.
In the last few minutes of the film, you’ll get a glimpse at the Goldwin brand’s ideas for its trail running apparel for 2023.
