The visionaries behind this resplendent dining experience are Gabriella Varshavsky and Frankie Brusco, who, together with Executive Chef Michael Tsarnas, have created a destination where gastronomy meets grandeur.
Chef Tsarnas, a maestro of modern cuisine, is the heartbeat of Gabriella’s. His commitment to perfection is evident in every dish, and during my recent visit, it was clear that his focus was set far beyond merely offering a meal but creating an unforgettable culinary journey.
From the moment I arrived, I was treated like royalty – the same level of care and attention extended to every guest in the room. The evening began with a tasting menu that showcased Chef Tsarnas’ impeccable skill and inventive palate. The Caviar Bumps with Kaluga Caviar were a bold and luxurious introduction, offering a briny burst of richness that set the tone for the evening. The Garlic Bread, far from ordinary, was elevated by a delicate balance of crispy, buttery texture and a hint of garlic that awakened the senses without overwhelming them.
As the meal unfolded, it became clear that each course was a deliberate celebration of flavors, textures, and presentation. The Spicy Tuna Nori Cones, an innovative take on sushi, were vibrant and fresh, offering a burst of umami with every bite. Similarly, the Firecracker Shrimp delivered a delicate crunch with a playful heat, while the Grilled Calamari was tender and smoky, perfectly paired with a drizzle of citrus.
One of the many highlights of the evening was the Truffle Ricotta, which was nothing short of divine. Creamy, rich, and accented with earthy truffle, it was a dish that exemplified the kind of refined simplicity that only the most skilled chefs can achieve. The Spicy Tuna Crunch and A5 Wagyu Surf and Turf Roll with Black Truffle followed, each an explosion of flavors that delighted both the palate and the imagination. The Tuna Tart with Shaved Burgundy Truffles, in particular, stood out for its decadence and elegance.
The meal progressed seamlessly, each dish building upon the last. The White Truffle Pasta was a symphony of creamy indulgence, the Spicy Rigatoni provided a perfect counterbalance of heat and depth, and the sides—Truffle Fries, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and the Lobster Truffle Mac and Cheese—were so meticulously crafted that they could have easily stolen the spotlight in a lesser establishment. The Wasabi Crusted Tuna brought an unexpected yet welcome punch of flavor, while the Filet Mignon, a signature dish, was cooked to perfection, its tenderness and flavor indicative of the highest quality beef.
Chef Tsarnas’ meticulous attention to detail extended beyond the main courses. The signature Espresso Martinis, a house favorite, were the ideal conclusion to the meal, their bitterness perfectly balanced with a smooth, velvety finish. The evening was a masterclass in how to create an experience that lingers long after the last bite.
The dining experience at Gabriella’s is made even more remarkable by its setting. The restaurant’s recent expansion includes the Speakeasy Primrose Room, an intimate 50-seat space that exudes exclusivity, offering a more secluded environment for private gatherings. Combined with the outdoor patio, which accommodates 75, and the main dining room with its 125-seat capacity, Gabriella’s is as versatile as it is luxurious, effortlessly catering to both intimate dinners and larger social events.
In July 2024, Gabriella’s celebrated its fifth anniversary, a milestone that speaks to the restaurant’s staying power in an ever-evolving culinary landscape. But it is not just longevity that defines Gabriella’s; it is the continuous pursuit of excellence, the unrelenting dedication to crafting memorable experiences for every guest who walks through its doors.
