GlobalStar Travel Management is partnering to use carbon management supplier Trees4Travel’s technology for carbon footprint calculation and mitigation.
The global travel management organization already worked with Trees4Travel with its recent partner conference, in which it “benefitted from direct integrations into booking systems, API connectivity and simple file uploads,” according to Trees4Travel CEO and cofounder Nico Nicholas. The work resulted in 396 trees added to a reforestation program in Haiti and the removal of almost 65,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide via United Nations-certified renewable energy projects, GlobalStar executive director of IT and supplier relations Julian Russell said.
Among the partners listed on Trees4Travel’s website include Agiito, Travelogix, the Business Travel Association, Omega World Travel and Flight Centre.
