Grasp Names Software program Exec Wilson as CEO

Data management and virtual payment solution provider Grasp Technologies has named veteran technology and software executive Chris Wilson its new CEO, the company announced on Tuesday.

Wilson succeeds acting CEO Brian Rogers, who took the position when founder and CEO Erik Mueller stepped down from the CEO role last year. Rogers is moving to the COO position at Grasp’s parent company, software business management company Waverock Software, which acquired Grasp in late 2021.

At the time of the Waverock acquisition, Mueller said it would allow Grasp to “accelerate our growth, further enhance operations and offer more products to our customers.” Waverock founder and CEO Mike Rozenfeld in a statement said Wilson is a “seasoned executive who has a track record of go-to-market success” as the company executes on those plans.

Wilson most recently was CRO of document processing platform PSPDFKit for two years and the same position at data platform Hazelcast for six years, and he helped both those companies grow through “major revenue milestones in the tens of millions of dollars each,” according to Grasp. Other previous roles for Wilson include VP of sales at machine learning company Skytree and Magnet Systems as well as a sales management role with Oracle.

“There’s a great opportunity with Grasp to continue serving the travel management industry, as well as large enterprise corporate travel centers,” Wilson said in a statement. “Grasp’s unmatched, highly comprehensive integration engine, specifically developed over many years to identify, collect, sanitize and deliver travel-related data from numerous legacy and modern-day systems, and to produce highly customizable industry-specific reports and dashboards, positions us well for the future.”

In the announcement of Wilson’s hiring, Waverock identified itself as a “long-term holder, committed to providing a stable home for businesses, employees and customers when founders are looking to exit their business, but also care deeply about their legacy.” Mueller, meanwhile, is staying with Grasp at the executive board level, he confirmed to BTN.
