With an easy-grip top handle and additional underside grab handle, this is my go-to carry-on item for weekend and week-long trips alike. My one complaint is that the exterior has shown its worn throughout use, though this can be remedied for the most part by a wet cloth or magic eraser.

Skincare
Subtl Beauty Cream Concealer — $11.20 (normally $14)
One of the most annoying things about packing is the number of products I find myself attempting to squeeze into my TSA-approved quart-sized bag. When it comes to makeup, I firmly believe less is more, which is where Subtl Beauty’s stackable makeup products come in handy. Available in various shades, Sublt allows you to build a customizable makeup stack based on your skin, complexion and product needs, including with concealer, eye shadow, bronzer, blush, highlighter, lip balm and pressed powder.
Their products literally stack, so they are easily packable and take up less space than traditional makeup products.
Beyond the cream concealer, which is available for under $12, Subtl’s other custom staks are also 20% off, starting under $10 for their shine control pressed powder, $11 for their bronzer and $14 for a two-in-one eyeshadow palette.
Buy: Subtl Beauty Cream Concealer, $11.20 (normally $14)
Recharge Smart SkyBlue quip toothbrush — $29.99 (normally $49.99)
I used to forgo bringing my electric toothbrush when traveling because of the bulkiness of old-school electric toothbrushes and their chargers. Electric toothbrushes have vastly improved, including those from Quip, whose 100% recyclable paper packaging-made brushes provide a three-month charge via its magnetic USB charging cable, so you likely won’t ever have to worry about packing an extra charger.
Buy:Recharge Smart SkyBlue quip toothbrush, $29.99 (normally $49.99)
Revlon Oval One Step Volumizer Plus Hair Dryer — $41.49 (normally $69.99)
If the Dyson Airwrap is expensive or simply too complicated, consider Revlon’s One Step Volumizer Plus Hair Dryer for a more minimal approach to at-home blowouts. Don’t let the under $100 price tag fool you; this is a quality product I’ve used over the past year to dry and shape my hair to give off the impression that I’ve put in a lot more effort than I actually have. Minimum effort for maximum reward is my jam when it comes to hair care as a gal on the go.
Buy: Revlon Oval One Step Volumizer Plus Hair Dryer, $41.49 (normally $69.99)
TULA SKINCARE Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm — $19 (normally $38)
One of my favorite clean skincare brands is Tula, and their Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm is a holy grail product for many. Though there’s some debate as to whether eye balms actually firm and tighten the look of skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, I will say this product instantly cools my skin for a brighter, glower appearance, which is honestly is enough for me.
Buy: TULA SKINCARE Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm, $19 (normally $38)
Plus, Target is running their “Buy 3, get 1 free on select beauty minis” promotion, which includes eligible items such as discounted Hero Acne pimple patches https://www.target.com/p/hero-cosmetics-mighty-acne-pimple-patch-duo-12ct/-/A-76462859, which can help expedite the diminishing of pimples, and Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, which is suitable as a makeup remover and cleansing wash for sensitive skin. Using both of these products regularly, I can personally recommend them.
Maximize your purchase
To get the most out of your purchases, be sure to use tools such as online shopping portals to earn extra points, miles or cash back. Instead of going directly to a retailer to make a purchase, search one of the shopping portals first to see if the retailer is a participating store (the answer is likely yes).
Every portal has a different payout, but you can use a shopping portal aggregator such as CashbackMonitor or Evreward to search for the store to quickly compare the current bonuses since payouts change daily and vary between programs. From there, use TPG’s monthly valuation guide to determine what your bonus miles or points are worth.
Additionally, remember that specific credit cards, including those from American Express, Chase and Citi, target specific cardholders with offers for certain retailers that may be among your Black Friday stores.
Wondering what credit card to use? Consider the options below based on where you plan on shopping:
Lastly, there are a number of shopping portals that reward shoppers with cash back for online purchases if you prefer cash in your pocket. Each portal will offer a different amount of cash back, so you’ll want to compare the different sites:
Read TPG’s guide for the current Black Friday offers through shopping portals, targeted credit card offers, and cash back opportunities here.
Bottom line
Happy shopping!
