The previous generation Hyundai Creta is still on sale in Morocco.
New light vehicle sales in Morocco drop another -12.1% year-on-year in February to 13,497 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -10.6% to 23,197. This includes 10,789 Passenger Cars (-10.8%) and 1,075 Light Commercials (-23.2%). Year-to-date, Passenger Cars are off -7.8% to 21,282 and LCV down -33.1% to 1,915.
In the PC brands ranking, Dacia (-16.3%) holds onto the top spot with 23% share, exactly the same level as January. Renault (+11.3%) goes against the market with a double-digit gain as does Hyundai (+23.3%) to 12.9% share. Peugeot (-46.7%) implodes at #4 whereas Volkswagen (+13%) shines at #5. In 10th place, Skoda (+186.1%) continues to stun and is the only additional Top 10 brand in positive with Citroen (-29.2%), Opel (-29.6%), Kia (-30%) and Toyota (-31.8%) all in freefall. Among premium brands, Audi (-9.7%) stays in the lead and improves its share slightly, Mercedes (+4.6%) edges up and BMW (-10.3%) limits its fall somewhat.
In the LCV brands ranking, Renault (-37.1%) tops the charts with 369 sales above DFSK (-19.3%) at 335 and Fiat (+115.3%) at 267.
