How you can Make Fluffy Frosted Peanut Butter Candy Rolls

A delicious change from cinnamon rolls is my recipe for soft and tender peanut butter sweet rolls with a cinnamon-spiked peanut butter filling and nutty frosting. This sweet yeast dough recipe makes the best breakfast rolls for bringing the entire family to the table or for a great dessert or snack. Therefore, let me tell you how to make my frosted peanut butter sweet rolls because once you try them you will want to make them again and again.

Advantages of These Bakery-Style Sweet Rolls

The first is how scrumptious these peanut butter rolls are for a real treat with that awesome filling complimented by the creamy nutty frosting. They truly can compare to those big, fluffy ones from a bakery.

This sweet yeast dough recipe can be shaped also as two filled loaves that you can serve plain or frosted.

This recipe takes well to freezing. You can bake a batch and put some away to defrost for another time.

If you don’t plan on freezing some, you can just pop them in the microwave the next day for about 30 seconds to a minute, depending on the size of the rolls you shape to freshen them up for that just baked taste.

My recipe has no salt in this sweet dough and uses canola oil for health benefits.

Whenever you’re in the mood to bake something sweet and delicious, I hope that you will be tempted to print out this recipe for these yummy peanut butter rolls. Please share it with your family and friends and do come back to my blog for more.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Sweet Rolls on Plate (Big Ones)

Fluffy Peanut Butter Sweet Rolls

2- 1/4 cups of warm water (reserve 1 cup for the yeast + 1 teaspoon of sugar)
3 ½ teaspoons of dry yeast
½ cups of sugar
7 to 7 ½ cups of sifted flour
½ cups of canola oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla
½ teaspoons of cinnamon

Peanut Butter Filling:

3/4 cup of creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Peanut Butter Frosting:

1 cup of powdered sugar
1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1/8 cup of milk

To Prepare the Peanut Butter Rolls Dough:

  1. Proof the yeast first in the warm (not hot) water with the one teaspoon of sugar. It is ready to use when you start seeing foam in your mixing bowl or measuring cup.
  2. Add the yeast to a large mixing bowl and combine it with the rest of the warm water, three cups of sifted flour, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and oil.
  3. Next, mix these ingredients and then continue gradually adding more flour until forming soft, pliable dough.
  4. Gently grease the ball of dough and cover it. Set it in a warm spot and allow to grow for about an hour and a half until it has a chance to rise.
  5. Roll the dough into an oblong about 15 x 7 inches. You will get two rolls.
  6. Brush lightly with water then spread peanut butter inside before sprinkling half of the reserved sugar and cinnamon for the filling to finish.
  7. Once filled, roll each up starting from the smallest end like a jelly roll.
  8. Now cut into slices (about an inch each). You can cut them as thick for huge man pleasing rolls or smaller rolls depending on your own preference.
  9. Place the rolls in a lightly greased baking pan about 13 x 9 x 2″.
  10. Cover and let these rise until double, about 45 minutes to an hour.
  11. Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 18-20 minutes, depending on how your oven is regulated.
  12. Use a toothpick, a slender knife or a cake tester to see if anything sticks determining doneness.
  13. Allow to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.
    14. To Make the Nutty Frosting:
    15. Just mix all the ingredients and beat with your electric mixer until creamy and spreadable.
    16. Spread on the rolls after they cool.
    17. ENJOY!
