Large backpacks are handy for a number of reasons, especially for hunters, outdoorsmen, and even the properly prepared citizen. To better help you accomplish all those goals with one bag, Stone Glacier has just announced their new R2 3200 backpack. This new pack is still compatible with all previous and current frames made by Stone Glacier, but now has a massive 3200 cubic inches of storage space making this bag suitable for long backcountry hunts, or for use as a 36-hour survival bag when you know you won’t be able to resupply at home base.

The new Stone Glacier R2 3200 pack is available now in either Coyote or Multicam for a starting price of $429 and can be directly ordered from the Stone Glacier Website. In addition to the new R2 3200, Stone Glacier has also released the smaller R1 2200, as well as the budget-friendly Tokeen series bag.
The R2 Series is designed to offer a 36-hour standalone dismounted operations pack. The R2 incorporates male-female connections on all compression straps, load lifters, and shoulder straps. PALS webbing is located on the right external side and on the internal back panel for use with MOLLE accessories and the SG radio harness. An internal spotting scope pocket will accept a straight or angled spotter up to 90mm objective. A comms port on the top adds the ability to route an antenna and comms cables. The R1 is compatible with the SG Hydro Sleeve to carry a 3L (100 oz.) bladder. Shoulder straps can also be removed and attached to the R3 frame to enable efficient carry of 150 lb.+ loads.
