Hyundai Australia has introduced complimentary servicing as an incentive on its Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models, with the offer available until October 31, 2023.
Customers purchasing a brand new Ioniq 5 will receive two years or 30,000km – whichever comes first – of complimentary servicing, while Ioniq 6 customers receive free servicing for four years or 60,000km.
The vehicle must be serviced through Hyundai’s authorised dealership network and abide by the service schedule set by the company. Terms and conditions apply.
Hyundai Australia confirmed in July 2023 that it had 300 Ioniq 5 and 6s ready for immediate delivery and 1000 more due to arrive in the coming months.
Both models were crippled by supply constraints earlier in the year, which seem to have cleared up.
The brand anticipates it’ll sell up to 4000 cars with Ioniq badges next year, of which around two thirds will be the Ioniq 5.
Hyundai Australia sells its Ioniq range online rather than selling them through its dealers, and has also left rural regions out of the buying process by only offering the vehicles to customers in capital cities.
To the end of September, Hyundai Australia has sold 707 Ioniq 5s and 417 Ioniq 6s.
It recently reduced the base price of its Ioniq 5 by $7500 for 2024 which now makes it eligible for electric car subsidies and stamp duty exemptions in more states and territories, and brings it more closely into line with the price of the base Tesla Model Y ($65,400 before on-roads) in Australia.
It includes added features across the range including a heat pump and battery heating and pre-conditioning. The new features are designed to make the Ioniq 5 more efficient in a broader range of conditions.
Hyundai Australia is set to widen the Ioniq 5 range in the first quarter of 2024 with the hot N.
Pricing starts from $111,000 before on-road costs and it will be offered in a single variant, with only the option of matte paint ($1000) and a glass Vision Roof ($2000).
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N features a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain with 448kW of power and 740Nm of torque.
There’s also an ‘N Grin Boost’ (NGB) function that ups the outputs to 478kW and 770Nm for 10 seconds.
Hyundai claims the Ioniq 5 N can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds when using the NGB function, and flat out you’ll be doing 260km/h.
