Icelandair to Add Winter Frequency

Icelandair will add frequencies to several routes for its winter season, which begins in October, the carrier announced Tuesday. Some seasonal service will convert to year-round. The changes will increase Icelandair’s capacity 20 percent to 25 percent compared with a year prior.

The carrier is upgrading five routes from seasonal to year-round, including flights between Reykjavik and each Baltimore (daily flights), Raleigh-Durham (four flights weekly), Vancouver (four flights weekly), Barcelona (three flights weekly) and Rome (three flights weekly).

Icelandair also is adding flights during daytime hours to New York and Boston, increasing weekly flights to each city to up to 21 and 11, respectively. It also is increasing frequencies to Chicago (between five and seven weekly flights), Minneapolis (four to seven weekly flights), and Munich (daily flights).
