Image an Hour: July 2023

Hey friends! I’m checking in as I sip a much-needed cup of coffee this morning. We had a very full but very fun day yesterday and I wanted to take you along for the ride in the form of a picture-an-hour post today. Let’s do it!

July 19, 2023: One Picture Per Hour

6:05 a.m. Pepper and I wake up and I give her lots of love. This ridiculous Instagram video is basically me and Pepper every morning. I love that little fluff ball.

7:10 a.m. Everyone is up and dressed we all said goodbye to Ryan as he headed off to work. We spend a little time outside, walk Pepper up and down our street and then head inside for breakfast. I make myself a yogurt bowl with Icelandic Provisions extra creamy honey apricot skyr, Siggi’s plain skyr and Good Culture cottage cheese. Plus pine nuts and pumpkin seeds for a little crunch and healthy fats!

9:05 a.m. Farm camp drop off! Chase and Ryder have been attending farm camp with a handful of their best friends this week and are in heaven. They’ve made jam, cut sunflowers, planted vegetables, searched for grasshoppers, played with chickens and more!

10:15 a.m. MyGym with Rhetty Roo! MyGym is one of Rhett’s favorite places in the world (he still calls it YourGym) and he has a blast running around, playing and doing various tricks with me an Miss Sarah!

11:00 a.m. Burn Boot Camp! After dropping Rhett off at child watch, I complete a Burn Boot Camp leg day workout that has my hamstrings burning!

12:40 p.m. We’re back home and I’m determined to get Rhett to nap since he’s skipped his nap the past few days. We eat lunch, play hard and then I tuck him in and hope for the best. Spoiler alert: It fails.

While listening to Rhett talking, singing and playing in his crib, I grab a quick shower, do my makeup, fold some laundry, unload the dishwasher and begin packing for an upcoming trip to Florida.

(Still loving this makeup bag!)

1:20 p.m. I’m in full-on packing mode thanks to a new system I’m trying for the first time. Have you guys seen the trend on the internet where people pack their kids’ clothes in hanging shoe organizers? You’re supposed to pack individual outfits in each shoe spot and then roll all of it up and pack it into a suitcase. Once you get to your destination, you unroll it, hang it on a door and have all of your kids’ outfits all planned and easily accessible. Two of my girlfriends did this for their summer vacations and swore it worked like a charm so here I am doing the same thing and hoping for the best. I’ll report back!

2:50 p.m. We’re off to farm camp pickup! It was “Chicken Day” on the farm and by far Chase and Ryder’s favorite day. They adore chickens and didn’t want to leave!

3:30 p.m. We’re still at the farm! I enjoyed some catch up time with my girlfriends while the kids ran around and continued playing with chickens.

4:45 p.m. We’re back home and the kids are unwinding with some playtime, podcasts and snacks. Rhett found my most recent Target purchase and decided to hijack it and turn it into a “boat” to transport his toys to the “beach.” Can you tell he thought I was going to take it back when I whipped out my phone to take a picture of him?

5:40 p.m. Quick outfit change before heading into the city with Ryan and the boys for our evening plans!

(Top: Target / Bra: True & Co. — shouting out this bra because it’s the best under summer tanks and currently almost $20 cheaper through the Nordstrom sale than what I paid / Skirt: Pilcro via Anthropologie — I bought it through a recent Nuuly rental! / Shoes: Madewell / Backpack: Forever 21 via ThredUP)

6:45 p.m. Charlotte Knights baseball game! We’ve been to the Charlotte Knights stadium before for their holiday Light the Knights event but this was our first time attending a game!

7:30 p.m. Cheering for the Knights at the game! My friend Lauren invited our family and the kids had the best time watching several home runs (from both teams), bouncing in the bounce houses in the kid zone, playing with their friends and eating hot dogs and Kona Ice.

8:30 p.m. Check out those red faces! Can you tell the boys were a sweaty mess after all the bounce house fun!?

9:15 p.m. We snapped a quick family picture before we figured we should all head home and put our kids to bed. Summer nights mean some late nights for special occasions and we initially worried a bit about how Rhett would hang in there during an evening baseball game but he was living his best life. He smiled so much, saying “I at a baseball game! It very late! Look how dark outside!” You better believe he stayed fully awake during the whole drive home, too. He wasn’t going to miss a second of the fun, that’s for sure!

It was a full day and a late night for our crew but everyone had a blast. Summer, please last foreverrr!
