In-stock D-Max, MU-X to drive file Isuzu Ute gross sales yr

Isuzu Ute Australia is on track to deliver more than 40,000 cars in Australia for the first time.

The brand is forecasting strong supply of the D-Max ute and MU-X four-wheel drive through the remainder of 2023, which should comfortably push the current tally of 32,341 deliveries (January to September) beyond the record 35,735 achieved in 2021.

“Our focus on customer satisfaction has been instrumental for our brand over the last few years – instilling confidence amongst customers who have made their purchase decision and patiently await their vehicle to be delivered,” Isuzu Ute Australia deputy managing director Koichiro Yoshida said in a statement.

“In turn, the strong vehicle order volume has helped us secure additional vehicle production with the factory to fulfil these orders – which we are looking forward to delivering to customers as soon as possible.

“With an increase in vehicle stock landing at dealers locally and back-to-back record months for deliveries in August and September, we are optimistic that this positive trajectory will continue towards the end of the year as we aim for over 40,000 deliveries in 2023,” Mr Yoshida said.

Isuzu has battled for supply of the D-Max since launch, with long waits on high-end models such as the X-Terrain in particular.

The best-selling Isuzu in Australia is the D-Max ute, which currently sits behind only the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger in the hotly contested ute sales race with 21,479 deliveries to date.

The MU-X is currently sitting behind the Toyota Prado, but ahead of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport on the sales charts.
