Finnegan’s Wake Irish Pub
100 Gibbs Street, Rockville, MD 20850
In Rockville Town Square, Finnegan’s Wake Irish Pub happened by chance. Owners Vanessa and Terry always talked about opening their own place. So, after dinner one night at the now closed Gordon Biersch (which they loved), Vanessa identified the need for an Irish pub in the community. As Terry put it best, “we’re here for the neighborhood—and here to stay.”

The Irish Inn
6119 Tulane Avenue, Glen Echo, MD 20812
In the 1930s, an old farmhouse burned to the ground and was rebuilt as a tavern, which became Otto’s Grill in 1944. Later serving as a roadhouse-style beer joint, patrons ranging from area bikers to DC lawyers frequented this local watering hole. From 1986 to 2002, the building was home to an upscale restaurant known as The Inn at Glen Echo. In April 2003, the restaurant was sold and reopened as The Irish Inn at Glen Echo. Today, the pub not only stands as a landmark for the community that is rich with history, but is also home to some of the best cuisine in the state of Maryland.
