Isuzu D-Max and MU-X recalled

Isuzu Ute Australia is recalling 15,542 examples of its D-Max ute and MU-X SUV because the lower steering shaft attaching bolt mightn’t be torqued correctly and could dislodge causing a loss of steering.

This recall affects D-Max and MU-X vehicles produced from 2020 to 2022.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the lower steering shaft attaching bolt may have a torque value lower than the required specification,” said the company in its recall notice.

“Over time the lower steering shaft attaching bolt may lose tension causing it to dislodge.”

“If the steering shaft bolt dislodges whilst operating the vehicle, it will cause a loss of steering,” adds the company.

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your nearest authorised Isuzu Ute dealer to schedule a free appointment for a technician to confirm the tension of the lower steering shaft attaching bolt is at the correct torque specification.

If you have further questions you can call Isuzu Ute Australia’s customer relations department on 1300 147 898.
