United Airlines is celebrating National Aviation Day on Aug.19 by giving budget-savvy travelers the gift of savings. United shared the deal via its Instagram page with a cheeky message implying that texts from United are better than texts from your ex.

With this promotion, you can save 10% off your next domestic United flight — but you must act fast to get this deal.

On Monday, United will text enrolled subscribers with a discount code for 10% off round-trip flights in the contiguous U.S. between Sept. 3, 2024, and Nov. 19, 2024.

To sign up, you must first opt-in to receive text messages from United using this link. You must complete this step before United texts the code on Monday. Then, on Monday, United will send a code to anyone who is opted-in to receive text messages, but you’ll want to keep your phone close by because only the first 819 (Aug. 19, get it?) people to use the code will receive the discount.

While you figure out where you’d like to fly using this discount, here are the full details of the deal:

Here are a couple of examples to show you how much you could save using this 10% off deal.

The regular price of a round-trip flight between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in mid-October is $562 (plus taxes and fees) in economy. With this deal, you could bring the base fare down to $505.80.
