Rains Mini Belt Bag
Many people know the pain of being unable to leave a house without a bag, especially when traveling. Luckily, the invention of belt bags has really changed the game for me when traveling. Instead of bringing a purse, I now throw my phone, wallet, sunscreen, portable charger and other travel essentials into a belt bag, and this mini bag from Rains is among the most compact options.
At just 13 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches high, this compact belt bag is perfect for travelers on the go. Its adjustable belt expands to 50 inches, transforming it into a cross-body bag if desired. Not to mention, it’s also waterproof.

Beis The Weekend Duffle Bag
Beis offers another duffle option with just a bit more specificity. The company excels in thinking of everything a traveler could need in a product.

Adidas Ultraboost 1.0 DNA Sneaker
As one of my favorite tennis shoes ever, I take advantage anytime Adidas puts its Ultraboost sneakers on sale. The first time I wore my Ultraboosts, it felt like I could become an instant track star. Their Springy Boost cushioning positions the Ultraboosts as a “running shoe reborn as a street sneaker made with high-performance recycled materials.” Not only does this provide utmost buoyancy, but their pull-on sock upper protects your ankles from blisters. Also, their Continental Rubber tread means you can wear the shoe in wet or dry weather conditions.
With fibers constructed from Parley Ocean Plastic sourced from upcycled plastic waste intercepted from remote islands, shorelines, waters and coastal communities, this is one of the most eco-friendly tennis shoes on the market.
If you’re worried about the ecru color getting dirty, know you can throw these in the washing machine without issue.
To buy: Adidas Ultraboost 1.0 DNA Sneaker: $149.99 (normally $190)
New Balance 574 Sneaker
If you are looking for a less sporty yet still comfortable sneaker, there’s nothing more classic than the New Balance 574 sneaker.

Hydro Flask 24-Ounce Wide Mouth Water Bottle
The Hydro Flask is hands down the best water bottle I’ve ever owned, and it’s a travel essential (despite the fact that I have lost three during my travels thus far). I have yet to find a water bottle that keeps water cold to the degree that the Hydro Flask does (up to 24 hours), thanks to its TempShield double-wall insulation. If hot beverages are your thing, rest assured the insulation works just as well on the opposite end of the spectrum, keeping your hot beverage hot for up to 12 hours. At just 1 pound, this bottle is ideal for travel, holding up to 24 ounces of liquid, with a leakproof screw-on cap. Having dropped my Hydro Flask many times, I can also attest to its durability and sweat-free nature.
To buy: Hydro Flask 24-Ounce Wide Mouth Water Bottle: $34.99 (normally $47)
Herschel Supply Co. Chapter Dopp Kit
If you are looking to pack less, this Herschel Supply Co. Chapter Dopp Kit functions as both a belt bag and toiletry bag. Its 600-denier tech fabric makes it durable and waterproof, easily wiped clean.
At just 9 1/2 inches wide, it’s small enough to throw into your carry-on bag or purse for the day.
To buy: Herschel Supply Co. Chapter Dopp Kit: $25.99 (normally $38)
Beauty
Supergoop Unseen and Play Sunscreen SPF 50 Set
A three-in-one deal, this set of Supergoop sunscreens is one of my favorite SPF options. It features two bottles of Unseen Sunscreen with broad-spectrum SPF 40 and one bottle of Play Everyday Lotion with SPF 50.
Unseen is an invisible, weightless and scent-free sunscreen that doubles as a makeup primer. If you’re not planning on wearing makeup, try the Play sunscreen, which is fast-absorbing, nongreasy and water- and sweat-resistant; it’s suitable for your face and body.
Supergoop is my go-to sunscreen, and these convenient travel sizes meet the Transportation Security Administration’s 3-1-1 liquid requirements.
To buy: Supergoop Unseen and Play Sunscreen SPF 50 Set: $52 (normally $78)
Coola Two Ways to SPF Bestsellers Set
If you want face coverage only, this Coola set provides two bottles of SPF 50 sunscreen. The full-size Classic Face Mist Sunscreen has broad-spectrum SPF 50, is nongreasy and applies over makeup, allowing you to refresh as needed.
For a more traditional sunscreen, try the full-size Classic Face Sunscreen with broad-spectrum SPF 50.
At 3.4 ounces and 1.7 ounces, respectively, both can be carried on.
To buy: Coola Two Ways to SPF Bestsellers Set: $39 (normally $64)
Tula Skincare Everyday Glow Best Selling Essentials Set
For a complete travel skincare set, look no further than the Tula Skincare Everyday Glow Best Selling Essentials Set — a cult favorite loved by many, including me.
Branded as “an iconic trio,” the Tula cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen are packed with probiotic extracts and superfoods.
Use the face cleanser to remove dirt, impurities and makeup without stripping or overdrying your skin; follow it with the 24/7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream. Before you head out, be sure to throw on Tula’s Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30, providing not only protection from the sun but also from pollution and blue light.
To buy: Tula Skincare Everyday Glow Best Selling Essentials Set: $98 (normally $146)
Kids
Doona Convertible Infant Car Seat/Compact Stroller System
Those with a new baby (or one on the way) will be hard-pressed to beat the functionality and practicality of a Doona. It’s an infant car seat and a stroller all in one.
It converts from a car seat to a stroller when the wheels shoot out with the push of some buttons. This means it transitions from cab rides to plane trips to strolls around town without any separate gear or sleeping baby transfers required.
The product is rated for babies 4 to 35 pounds and up to 32 inches.
To buy: Doona Convertible Infant Car Seat/Compact Stroller System: $411.99 (normally $550)
Jetkids by Stokke BedBox 19-Inch Ride-On Carry-On Suitcase
This rideable suitcase transforms on the plane into a leg rest or a minibed for small kids that can make it easier for them to sleep. It’s a love-it-or-hate-it gadget, as it’s not always as convenient as you’d hope to have kids ride through the airport. Also, not all airlines allow the use of products like this.
Still, when it works out, it can really work well. So if you’ve been looking to try this product, buying at a discount may be the perfect opportunity.
To buy: Jetkids by Stokke BedBox 19-Inch Ride-On Carry-On Suitcase: $170.99 (normally $229)
Merrell Altalight Waterproof Hiking Sneaker
When heading to national parks or other outdoor adventures, kids sometimes need a versatile shoe that’s more stable than a sneaker but not necessarily as bulky as a true hiking boot. A hiking sneaker like this can be just the ticket.
To buy: Merrell Altalight Waterproof Hiking Sneaker: $40.99 (normally $54.95)
Bottom line
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends Aug. 6 this year, but items will likely sell out before then. We recommend adding items to your wishlist now so you are ready to go when the sale drops.
Happy shopping!
