The Kia Sportage is #1 in Moldova both in July and YTD.
Based on data shared with us by our Central European market data partner CE Auto, the Moldovan new car market edges down -1% year-on-year in July to 742 sales. This is a strong result as July 2022 was up 24% on the year prior. The year-to-date volume is now up 15.3% to 4,583 units. This month the Kia Sportage takes control of the charts both in July (+276.2%) and year-to-date (+206.3%). It dislodges the Dacia Duster (+84.4%) despite the latter posting a spectacular year-on-year gain. The Skoda Kodiaq (+27.5%) also vastly outpace the market at #3 above the Toyota RAV4 (-42.6%) and Suzuki Vitara (-25.6%) both in freefall. Notice also the strong showings of the Peugeot 3008 (#6), Haval H6 (#7) and Geely Atlas Pro (#9). The July Top 7 is entirely composed of SUVs.
