LADYGUNN – Pomme Releases Beforehand-Misplaced Single “bizarre” Simply Forward of Her First Headlining Tour Throughout the Americas

The recovery of something once lost is a bittersweet endeavor, invoking the anxiety of the search with the relief of finally finding it. But what if what you once lost was a piece of art? A song? This is what renowned French artist Pomme brings to the table today with her newest track, “weird,” but not exactly because of the lyrics and themes on the song itself, but rather with the context in which the track has been released.

Building on the emotional themes explored in her recent album “Saisons,” Pomme now offers her listeners another chance to connect intimately with her through the previously-lost track, “weird.”  This new English track, written during the quarantine period, serves as a preview of the music her fans can anticipate hearing at her upcoming tour in Mexico, Colombia, and North America which is just around the corner.

The song has its own lyrics visualizer to go along:

“In 2020 I released a quarantine EP called «quarantine phone sessions» and then took it off all platforms cause I thought COVID would only last a few weeks (lol). It was a way for me to stay creative and write really short, simple, descriptive songs that helped me go through this weird time. When I was a teen, I always wrote in English, cause it helped me express the things that I was afraid to tell in French. I tried to find that feeling of playfulness and innocence that we all have when we are kids. One of the songs from the EP called «weird» is out again in the world, as I’m preparing for my first-ever headline tour in the US :’) I wanted to give it to you all as a tiny gift, I’m so grateful and excited for this tour”  – Pomme

The song begins with a wistful yet impactful guitar introduction that sets the stage for Pomme’s ethereal, lullaby-like vocals. The song’s disarming and emotive delivery thoughtfully conveys a message of tender vulnerability – an honest admission of the difficulty in maintaining a facade of normalcy or positivity when faced with an unsettling reality.

The chorus, however, offers a counterpoint, with the lines “but spring has come / and light gets in / I will dance until I can’t breathe” suggesting a determined effort to find solace and joy, even amidst the unsettling circumstances. This contrast underscores Pomme’s ability to strike a delicate balance, capturing the complex emotions of navigating uncertainty while demonstrating the resilience necessary to endure and reach new horizons.

Recently, Pomme unveiled her ambitious fourth album “Saisons,” conceived as a modern opera in two parts – “autumn/winter” and “spring-summer” – completing the seasonal cycle. Accompanying the album are short films, including saisons, le film: printemps, saisons, le film: hiver, saisons, le film: automne, plus _dec carte de noël co-written with Aaron Dessner, with the full “Saisons” short film set for release in July.
