LADYGUNN – WE WILL KEEP DANCING

While it felt that most of NYC was rioting over PS5’s yesterday, a far more significant uproar was taking place  over the bridge in Brooklyn. Just six days ago at a gas station in Brooklyn, O’Shae Sibley and a group of friends vogueing to Beyonce’s Renaissance were approached and told to stop dancing. The confrontation lead to the murder of O’Shae Sibley, a 28-year-old black queer accomplished dancer, choreographer, activist and well known member of the ballroom scene. Friends, family and supporters including Rev. Yunus Coldman, Keven Aviance, Ceyenne Doroshow, Qween Jean and queer activist Yves were among hundreds gathered for a memorial BALL on the same street corner of the scene of the crime. Demonstrating that expressing BPOC queer joy will never be silenced, we danced for justice, pain and O’SHAE SIBLEY.
