Mexico City-based corporate expense and payment platform Mendel has launched an online booking tool tailored for companies in Latin America, the company announced.
The OBT has “deep integration capabilities” for EDIFACT, New Distribution Capability and low-cost carrier content and direct connections to “major travel management companies,” according to Mendel, which the company declined to identify to BTN. With connections to companies’ ERP systems, companies also can ensure compliance to regional tax regulations given the “regulatory complexities” and special needs unique to Latin American markets, the company said.
“Designed with regional needs in mind, we’ve crafted a tool that combines a user-friendly experience with powerful customization options to accommodate each client’s unique travel policies and agreements,” Mendel cofounder and CEO Alan Karpovsky said in a statement.
In addition, the tool includes an AI-powered virtual assistant that can interact with employees and make suggestions within a company’s policy while easing use for employees not used to corporate online booking tools, according to Mendel.
Mendel, which began operations in Mexico in 2021, reports McDonald’s, Mercado Libre and Mexican beverage and retail company FEMSA among its customers. The company in 2022 announced a $60 million funding round with investors including Industry Ventures, Infinity Ventures and Victory Park Capital.
