Lexus Australia has finally welcomed the updated UX 300e electric SUV to showrooms, though the top-spec Sports Luxury has seen a price increase of nearly $1000.
As per the previous pricing announcement in August, the entry-level UX 300e Luxury starts from $79,990 plus on-road costs, meaning it qualifies for the Federal Government’s fringe benefit tax (FBT) exemptions.
The high-spec Sports Luxury, meanwhile, has received a price increase of nearly $1000 to $88,490 before on-road costs. It was $87,665 plus on-roads at the previous announcement.
Initially scheduled for a mid-year launch in Australia, the 2024 Lexus UX 300e brings a much larger 72.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack – a 34 per cent increase in capacity – which also increases claimed driving range by 200km based on NEDC testing.
Power comes from a carryover 150kW/300Nm electric motor mounted on the front axle, which is hooked up to that larger battery. Claimed driving range is now 450 kilometres according to WLTP specifications, up from the previous model’s measly 315km claim.
Other key changes compared to the pre-update model include a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Toyota and Lexus’s latest interface with online connected functions, which also benefits from wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.
A three-year subscription to Lexus Connected Services is included with purchase of the vehicle, which brings compatibility with the Lexus Connected smartphone app, as well as safety features like SOS Emergency Call, Automative Collision Notification and Stolen Vehicle Tracking.
The UX 300e also comes with Lexus’s Encore Premium Electrified ownership benefits program, which includes including complimentary home charger installation, access to the Chargefox rapid public charging network, Lexus On Demand and valet parking at participating shopping centres.
