Live performance for Carolina + Monday in Actual Time

Hey friends! How are you? Did you have a good weekend? Our weekend passed by in a blur of two soccer games, family outside time, trunk-or-treat at Rhett’s preschool, a visit to a trampoline park and typical weekend household to-dos. It was a good one!

Concert for Carolina

A major weekend highlight for me happened on Saturday night when my friend Lauren reached out with a last-minute ticket to Concert for Carolina and invited me to join her at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Lauren Julie

To say I was psyched to be able to attend this concert with one of my best friends was a huge understatement!

Concert for Carolina was organized in less than 30 days by country music superstars Luke Combs and Eric Church and included a fantastic lineup of country music artists. James Taylor, Keith Urban (it was his birthday and his wife Nicole Kidman came on stage and we all sang to him!), Sheryl Crow, Chase Rice, Billy Strings and Scotty McCreery and a few additoinal artists all came together for one purpose: To raise money for Hurricane Helene relief in the Carolinas. And man oh man was it a success! The concert raised more tha $24.5 million dollars (!!!) and lasted well past midnight. It seemed like every dollar spent that evening was going toward Hurricane Helene relief — our drinks, parking fees, food, merchandise purchases, additional donations… everything.

And the concert was incredible. We moved to North Carolina 10 years ago and this state has captured my heart in such a big way. Concert for Carolina did the most incredible job showcasing the love and pride North Carolinians have for their state and the people in it and included some of the absolute best live performances I’ve ever seen. The event was so special it was truly a night I’ll never forget.

Monday

Fast foward and now it’s Monday and I’m coming at you in real time! I set my alarm and was up before the boys so I could have a little time to myself this morning and took some time to do a load of laundry, straighten up around the house and ease into the day with the Bible study I’m doing with my Tuesday small group.

Once the boys were up and fed, Rhett and I said goodbye to the big kids and Ryan as they headed out the door. Since Ryan handled Chase and Ryder’s school drop off today, this morning felt less rushed all around for me and Rhett which was wonderful. I started on this blog post while Rhett worked on his Lite Brite creation next to me until it was time to head out the door for his preschool drop-off. (Anyone else love Lite Brite as a kid? It’s one of those toys from my childhood that definitely holds up with the boys, too!)

Once Rhett was settled at school, it was time to create a small pumpkin patch with my fellow room moms for the two pre-K classroom kids.

Straight from the pumpkin patch set-up, I rushed off to meet with Ryder’s teacher for our fall parent-teacher conference. (Chase’s conference is the following week.) I always enjoy chatting with the boys’ teachers and getting a better insight into their days at school so it was great to have 30 minutes to chat with Ryder’s teacher.

And now that catches us up for the day! I’m currently blogging from a local coffee shop near the boys’ school and plan to work here for a little while longer before hopefully having a little bit of time to squeeze in a quick workout before Rhett’s preschool pickup around lunchtime. I hope you all have a fantastic Monday!!
