If you’re a Taurus or a Gemini, know that this cosmic moment isn’t one to take for granted; after all, Jupiter only transits your sign once about every 12 years. (Do the math, and you’ll find that you can only get a maximum of eight lucky Jupiter transits in your lifetime.) “The way I see it, it’s like you’re holding a beautiful emerald in the palm of your hand, and it’s just perfectly catching the light,” says Miller. In her eyes, the gemstone functions as a symbol of Jupiter’s cosmic protection—hence, her decision to call the lucky Jupiter transit a sign’s “emerald year.”
“If you’re working hard and making conscientious decisions, then this is a year of tremendous reward and breakthroughs.” —Susan Miller, astrologer
The key thing to remember about having your emerald year (looking at you, Taurus and Gemini) is that “you have to partner with the universe,” says Miller. Translation: You can’t just sit around and wait for luck to happen (sorry). “It’s very important to leave the house,” Miller quips. Meaning, you have to try to put yourself in the right place at the right time, and the universe (read: Jupiter) will handle the rest. So what does that mean for you? If you’re looking to find a new job, you still have to put in the work toward networking and applying. If you’re searching for love, it’s on you to actually get out there. But when you do, you’re more likely to find success within Jupiter’s aura.
“If you’re working hard and making conscientious decisions, then this is a year of tremendous reward and breakthroughs,” says Miller, of what Taurus and Gemini can expect as the luckiest zodiac signs of 2024. “Jupiter will bring you as high as your abilities will allow you to go.” Having Jupiter in your sign is also the best placement for luck in finding love and getting a chance to see the world, Miller adds.
For Taurus, in particular, you may notice that some of the seeds you’ve been planting over the past year begin to sprout. While Jupiter has been moving in your sign since May, the first part of your emerald year can be “so busy that you might not even realize how potent it is,” says Miller. But now, as Jupiter finishes its transit in Taurus and shifts into Gemini, you could have some big realizations: Maybe you realize the person you met last year is actually the love of your life, or you finally know you want to leave your job, or you’ve decided to move somewhere new. “In any case, you’re just about ready to make a huge life statement,” says Miller.
For Gemini, on the other hand, the good Jupiter vibes are just getting started as the planet moves into your sign in May. Expect to be very busy (yes, even more than usual, you social butterfly) and to brush shoulders with plenty of influential people “who will go out of their way to make introductions or otherwise help you get ahead,” says Miller. At the same time, you could find yourself traveling a bunch (after all, Jupiter rules the realms of adventure and exploration)… and maybe not even of your own accord. It’s not necessarily the year you plan or go on your own bucket-list trip, but you could wind up traveling somewhere far away for work or tagging along on a trip last-minute that somehow changes your perspective on life, says Miller.
Throughout the year, however, Miller stresses that it’s important to stay focused on your goals and prioritize professional growth, Gemini, since you’ll be set up to harness a lot of cosmic opportunities in 2024. While Jupiter is about to shower its luck on your sign, Saturn (the planet of responsibilities and work) is also still moving through Pisces, “meaning it’s in your 10th house of honors, awards, achievements, and fame, making this one of your biggest career years ever,” says Miller. Your best bet for maximizing the potential? Lean hard into your natural strengths… like good communication, adaptability, and perhaps above all, quick-witted humor.
