Lufthansa Group in January 2025 will lower the per-ticket distribution fee for EDIFACT bookings through the Sabre global distribution system to €22 (US$24) from €24.50, the company announced on its Lufthansa Group for Business website.
The change is due to currency fluctuations “and to ensure that GDS costs are reflected accurately,” according to Lufthansa Group. The fee for Amadeus GDS bookings will remain unchanged at €17.50 per ticket, as will the Travelport fee at €23 per ticket, according to the company. The fee for tickets purchased through a New Distribution Capability GDS channel will remain the same at €8 per booking for Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport.
Bookings made through Lufthansa Group’s direct NDC API, approved NDC technology providers or web-based user interface SPRK are not assessed a distribution fee, according to Lufthansa.
Carriers in the group for which the charges apply include Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss and Air Dolomiti.
