Lufthansa this summer will launch unlimited free text messaging on intercontinental flights, the carrier announced Thursday.
Passengers will be able to send and receive “any number of messages, including photos,” during their flights on their smartphones or tablets “via the familiar apps, regardless of their travel class,” according to Lufthansa.
The messaging service since 2024 has been available on short- and medium-haul Lufthansa flights and on “numerous” Austrian Airlines aircraft. Austrian and Swiss, carriers under the Lufthansa Group umbrella of airlines, also offer free messaging on select long-haul flights.
