BCD Travel’s Advito consultancy has partnered with inclusive traveler safety training specialist Maiden Voyage to resell its e-learning training courses to clients.
Maiden Voyage’s training content has a particular focus on risk management for travelers with specific needs, such as women travelers and LGBTQ+ travelers, and enables companies to move away from a “one-size-fits-all” approach to travel risk management, according to Maiden Voyage founder and CEO Carolyn Pearson. A non-inclusive approach, for example, could overlook such risks as LGBTQ+ travelers visiting countries that have harsh laws against people participating in same-sex sexual activity, the increased risk of the Zika virus to pregnant women and their unborn child or the need for deaf travelers to have proper equipment in their hotel room to notify them of a fire, she said.
Maiden Voyage has been a partner of BCD since last August, when it joined as a marketplace partner, “the first training partner they’ve signed, and we bring something unique to their clients,” Pearson said. The newly announced Advito partnership enables the consultancy to add the training piece to its own package around diversity.
“It’s great for Maiden Voyage, because a lot of clients have never heard of us,” Pearson said. “It’s a massive endorsement that one of the world’s biggest TMCs has our name beside theirs.”
