New car sales in Singapore sink -31.9% year-on-year in 2022 to just 30,939 units, the lowest annual volume since 2014. Toyota (-33.5%) roughly follows the market to remain in the brands lead with 20.7% share vs. 21.2% last year. The Top 6 brands are unchanged on 2021, with Mercedes (-18.1%) and BMW (-29.2%) both resisting better than the market at 17% and 12% share respectively. In tow, we have Honda (-32%), Hyundai (-41.5%) and Mazda (-52.4%) all in difficulty. Tesla (-5.3%) posts by far the best hold in the Top 10 and climbs three spots to #7. Audi (-56.7%), Nissan (-52.5%) and Kia (-41.5%) all see their share recede in the remainder of the Top 10. Below and in order of sales, Porsche (+23.2%), BYD (+783.1%), Citroen (+45.8%) and Ssangyong (+128.9%) score stellar results.
