Christy Sports: Up to 40% Off
Our GearJunkie testers loved the Dalbello Panterra for intermediate and developing resort and alpine skiers looking to go to the next level without breaking the bank. Thanks to the 40% off ski and snowboard gear going on at Christy Sports through January 7, it’s an even more affordable boot, going for $330 in the men’s 100 GW model.
If you’ve already progressed beyond what this boot can deliver, never fear. Christy also has a ton of other options on tap.
evo: Up to 50% Off
Evo’s ongoing winter sale is a good one, with plenty of downhill and snowsport goodies up for grabs. But as a change of pace, let’s take a look at the bike-related stuff included in the sale. Evo’s got everything from Maxxis tires to Santa Cruz bikes. But I wanted to highlight these pedals from PNW Components.
Loam Alloy Peddles are forged of durable 6061 aluminum and include 22 removable pins for tailoring to your needs. Best of all, they come in a range of colorful options (this blood orange color goes great with my bikepacking rig) and are already inexpensive. Toss in 25% off and you can grab a pair of PNW’s sturdy platforms for $75.
Garmin fēnix 7: $200 Off Assorted Models
Garmin’s flagship sports watch line, the fēnix, is now in its seventh iteration. The adventure watch powerhouse comes in three case sizes and six editions, several of which include a sapphire lens, solar charging capability, or both. And all the variations therein are on sale now for $200 off at Garmin’s website.
GearJunkie thought the fēnix 6 was the bee’s knees, and the 7 has loaded up more features, including improved solar surface area and touchscreen capability, increased battery life, and an integrated, dimmable LED flashlight. Handy!
Outdoor Research: Up to 30% Off Select Products
Outdoor Research went all in on the Hemispheres II GORE-TEX Bibs. GearJunkie called them “excellent backcountry outerwear” when the bibs made our Best Men’s Ski Bibs of 2023-2024 roundup earlier this year.
GearJunkie’s reviewers rated the bibs highly on ease of motion (always an important factor in the backcountry) and weather protection. They even have dedicated backcountry features, like a beacon pocket. They are 30% off right now thanks to Outdoor Research’s Snow Day Sale, which also includes gloves, jackets, and other downhill gear.
Whoop: 10% to 25% Off Select Plans
You’ve probably heard of Whoop by now. The little device is more a recovery tool than a fitness tracker, working on the principle of measuring heart-rate variability, nutrition, sleep, and other factors to determine when to go hard, when to take it easy, and when to straddle the two.
Now in its fourth iteration, the Whoop is a useful tool even for professional athletes and trainers who have spent a lifetime tuning into subtle body signs to take a break. Just ask GearJunkie’s expert tester — a man who also happens to be a professional personal trainer.
With Whoop’s January Jumpstart Challenge, you can save big on four different plans depending on your desires, with each focusing on a different aspect of fitness (recovery, strain, sleep, and alcohol consumption). We all need a little help to stay on track. Perhaps a Whoop strap could be just what you need to finally hit those goals!
