Mazda 3 and CX-3 recalled

Mazda is recalling over 176,000 vehicles across the 3 and CX-3 lines due to a defect with their reversing camera.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear-view camera wiring harness may become damaged and could cause the rear-view image to become distorted or flicker,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the rear-view camera display does not clearly display the rear-view image as intended, it could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.”

  • A total of 176,048 vehicles are affected from 2013 to 2020
  • The VIN lists are attached here and here
  • The original recall notice is attached here

Mazda Australia is contacting owners of affected vehicles in writing as soon as parts become available.

If you are contacted, you’ll need to make an appointment at an authorised Mazda dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
