Tesla has released a series of new models starting from as little as US$175 (A$270).
Before we get ahead of ourselves, unfortunately they aren’t roadworthy (unless you’re really, really little? – Ed.)
The brand is offering its customers a series of die-cast 1:18 scale versions of the Model Y, pre-facelift Model 3, Roadster, and Semi, but only if you reside in the USA.
The most recent addition is the Model Y, spotted by Sawyer Merritt on X (formally known as Twitter). The SUV comes with the option of either white or black interior, and three exterior paint choices.
The Model Y’s frunk, doors, and tailgate all open, as you’d would expect of a good die-cast model. Tesla says the scale model has 180+ parts including a panoramic sunroof, rubber tyres, and seatbelts made of fabric.
The Model Y collectible costs US$195 (A$300) and is available in red, blue, and white.
Tesla’s smaller Model 3 is available with a more appealing price tag of US$175 (A$270). The sedan is offered in a range of colours including black, red, grey, and blue exterior paint with either black or white interior trim.
Next up in the collection is the Roadster. The Targa-style roof is a removable plastic panel, and the model has functioning doors and a functioning boot lid.
Inside, it features Tesla yoke steering wheel which can actually steer the wheels, along with white seats and a black dashboard.
The Roaster costs US$175 (A$270) and is available only with a red exterior paint.
Finally, the Tesla Semi. The die-cast 1:24 model is the heaviest of the lot weighing about 1.5kg.
Like the Model 3 and Roadster it costs US$175 (A$270), and it’s available in white with a black interior finish.
