My Favourite Hair Care Merchandise and How I Grew My Hair

Welcome to my guide to my favorite hair care products and tips on how I grew my hair. I know how hard it can be to find the right products to keep your mane looking and feeling healthy. But fear not! I’ve done the research and tried out countless products to bring you the best of the best. From Olaplex to scalp massagers, I’ve got you covered. Plus, I’ll share my secrets to growing my hair like a pro. So sit back, relax, and get ready to have your hair game elevated to the next level.

I’ve always been known for my hair. It could be because I dyed it myself freshman year of high school and it turned BRIGHT orange. It was so bad, I didn’t go to class at my all girl’s Catholic high school the next day. I went to Ulta to *try* and get it fixed.

It didn’t work. For a solid year my hair was in between blonde, yellow, and orange.

But for as long as I can remember, I’ve had long, wavy hair.

Back when I was VERY blonde and bleached

I know the struggle of finding the perfect hair products to keep your locks luscious and healthy. And let me tell you, the struggle is real. But thankfully we have Amazon and I actually put everything in a complete list here and explain what I use below!

When I moved to Germany, my hair for whatever reason. Could it be the lack of hormones in the chicken? The lack of sun? I have no idea. But it was if my hair had forgotten how to be hair. But when I moved back to the USA, I decided to make my hair a top priority, and there were certain things that made a huge difference. Here’s what I’ve learned about the best hair products to keep your mane looking its best.

Here’s a look at my hair when I lived in Germany. It simply could not grow and was breaking off at the ends.

Here’s my hair now, much healthier and longer!

Best Hair Care Products

Read on to see how I use each product, or check out everything on Amazon here!

Let me also point out this is not sponsored in any way! This is all what I really use and have been for years on my hair.

First things first: vitamins. I started taking Athletic Greens six months ago, and it’s been a game-changer for my hair. The biotin and vitamin E in these supplements have been helping my hair grow like a weed, but not the bad kind.

The next key to my hair success has been using some top-notch products. I’ve got three favorites that I just can’t live without. Olaplex No. 3 is like the superhero of hair treatments. It repairs and strengthens damaged hair like magic, making it look and feel so much healthier. Plus, it’s just fun to say “Olaplex.” You’ll see these products throughout the post because I truly believe Olaplex is a game changer.

Then there’s the satin pillowcase. Don’t underestimate this hair trick- it’s also good for your skin. Sleeping on a satin pillowcase helps protect your hair from breakage and split ends, and it’s way gentler than those old cotton pillowcases. You can thank me later for this one.

Lastly, I keep a hair and scalp massager in my shower. It’s like giving my scalp a massage every time I shampoo and condition my hair. It feels great, and it helps increase circulation to the scalp, which promotes healthy hair growth. It’s like a spa day for your scalp.

I ended up getting this shower filter for hard water for my hair in Germany and it made a WORLD of difference. I now have one at home too! It really helps with breakage!

When it comes to shampoo and conditioner, Olaplex has got your back. Their products are specially formulated to repair and protect damaged hair, so it’s perfect for those of us who have been a little too rough on our hair in the past. And for those days when you’re too busy to shampoo, Batiste blonde dry shampoo is your savior. It helps absorb excess oil and gives you that va-va-voom volume you’ve been craving.

For all my fellow blondes out there, the struggle against brassiness is real. That’s why I use B-Uniq purple toning mask. It’s easy to use and helps neutralize any unwanted brassiness, so your blonde stays bright and fresh.

Styling your hair is where the fun really begins. I love using Gimme hair ties and jumbo hair rollers to add extra volume, and the T3 Whirl trio interchangeable curling iron set is like having three hairstylists in one. I find myself reaching for the 1-inch barrel the most, but it’s great to have options.

If you’re drying your hair naturally, Cantu coconut curling cream is a great way to define your waves and add moisture. And if you’re in the market for a new hair dryer, I highly recommend the Dyson dupe on Amazon. It’s a great investment, and the diffuser attachment helps enhance your waves.

Last but not least, claw clips are a girl’s best friend when it comes to adding volume. Just clip them at the roots and voila! Instant lift.

How to Grow Your Hair Longer

In addition to the products abopve, here are some tips that have worked for me to grow your hair out!

Here are some tips on how to grow your hair longer:

  1. Eat your way to healthier hair: You are what you eat and that includes your hair. Eating a balanced diet that includes plenty of vitamins and minerals is essential for healthy hair growth. Make sure to include foods like eggs, nuts, and leafy greens, which are rich in biotin, vitamin E, and iron, respectively.
  2. Be gentle with your hair: Over-styling and harsh treatments can damage your hair, making it more prone to breakage and slower to grow. Avoid using hot tools like straighteners and curling irons too often, and when you do, make sure to use a heat protectant spray. Be gentle when brushing or combing your hair, and avoid pulling or tugging at it.
  3. Use the right products: Using high-quality hair products can make a big difference in the health and growth of your hair. Look for products that are specifically designed to nourish and strengthen hair, such as Olaplex No. 3 and No. 6. Be sure to choose products that are appropriate for your hair type and texture.
  4. Get regular trims: While it may seem counterintuitive, getting regular trims can actually help your hair grow longer. Trimming your hair every six to eight weeks helps to prevent split ends, which can cause breakage and slow down hair growth.
  5. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water is not only good for your overall health, but it can also help keep your hair hydrated and healthy. Make sure to drink at least eight glasses of water a day to promote hair growth.

As mentioned before, I also recommend taking vitamins (I use these and when you click this link you get a discount plus 5 free travel packs and vitamin d!) I also highly recommend a silk or satin pillow case.

It’s also essential to pay attention to how you brush your hair.

When it comes to brushing your hair, there are a few key tips to keep in mind. First, make sure to choose a hairbrush that’s appropriate for your hair type and texture. For example, if you have thick, curly hair, you’ll want a brush with wider spaced bristles to avoid tangling and breakage.

When you’re ready to brush your hair, start at the ends and work your way up to the roots, using gentle strokes and avoiding any tugging or pulling. If you encounter a tangle, don’t try to force it out – instead, use a wide-toothed comb or detangling brush to gently work through the knot. I’m a big fan of the WET brush or this paddle brush.

It’s also important to avoid brushing your hair too often or too vigorously, as this can lead to breakage and damage. Stick to brushing your hair once or twice a day, and use a gentle touch to avoid putting unnecessary stress on your hair. By following these tips and brushing your hair properly, you’ll help keep your locks healthy, shiny, and beautiful.

By following these tips and being patient, you’ll be well on your way to growing longer, healthier hair in no time.
