NEW from Daiwa – Tatula MQ LT Fishing Spinning Reel

For the 10th anniversary of the Tatula line of fishing gear, Daiwa has launched their new Tatula MQ LT spinning reels. This feature-rich spinning reel starts around the one-piece Monocoque Zaion V body. Daiwa’s new monocoque framework yields more space for larger gears. Giving anglers better torque and power, all the while still using the same gear ratios (5.8:1 and 6.2:1) of competitive spinning reels.

“What makes this reel special is the new Tatula MQ LT family features a MONOCOQUE frame and body. And there’s been no price increase over the standard, ever-popular DAIWA Tatula LT. From the 1000 through 4000 sizes, the all new Tatula MQ LT has an MSRP of $199.99. There’s simply no better spinning reel on the market at this price,” says DAIWA Marketing Manager, Marc Mills.

“The ZAION V MONOCOQUE body carbon fiber body and frame are lightweight and corrosion resistant, yet still very rigid. The technology has allowed us to put a much larger main gear and pinion gear in the reel and still create the same amount of gear ratio. You’re still getting the usual gear ratio; but with more power, more torque, and better leverage—plus, it’ll give you longer gear life,” adds Mills.

The new one-piece Monocoque Zaion V body, which has been offered in many of the flagship models of Daiwa spinning reels, offers 360 degrees of stability and improved waterproofing. Especially compared to standard spinning reels with conventional screw-in side plates, there are fewer points where water can intrude into the reel body. With the extra rigidity and 360 degrees of stability from the MQ Zaion body, the gearing is held firmly in place for incredibly precise alignment. This makes for less flex and wear on the gears letting your reel feel new and fresh for years to come.

The Tatula MQ LT also comes with a Daiwa’s Airdrive Rotor and Airdrive Bail systems. The Airdrive rotor has been engineered to be incredibly rigid, with little flex even under heavy drag applications. The Airdrive rotor also has critically designed cut-outs to reduce weight as well. The Airdrive bail is a solid wire bail made with advanced materials to reduce weight but still be more durable and rigid compared to a standard bail.  With the reduced weight of both the rotor and bail, there’s less inertia to start spinning the reel making for smoother action. All this weight reduction combined makes for a lighter reel that has better balance when paired with your favorite spinning rod.
