Ingredients in a Paradise Drink

  • Water
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Chopped Fresh Pineapple – This will add the perfect pineapple flavor to your base syrup.
  • Passionfruit Powder – Made from dried passion fruit, this powder is perfect for flavoring syrups and drinks.
  • Green Coffee Extract – This gives your beverage a nice caffeine boost. If you prefer to go caffeine free, simply omit this ingredient from the recipe.
  • Citric Acid – Adds a bit of tang to your syrup.
  • Coconut Milk – Perfect for achieving a pina colada-esque flavor. Creamy and delicious!
  • Freeze Dried Pineapple Pieces – These are so good you will want to eat them all as a snack! Crumbled into this drink recipe, they add a nice flavor and interesting texture.
  • Ice

How to Make Base Syrup

Begin by making the pineapple base syrup. To make this syrup, combine in a sauce pan the water, granulated sugar, and chopped fresh pineapple. Once it has reached the boiling point, lower the heat and continue to simmer for about 10 minutes.

Remove from the heat and strain the pineapple chunks out. Add passion fruit powder, green coffee extract powder, and citric acid powder while still warm.

Once cooled, decant the syrup into a glass container to store in the fridge. This is the base syrup you will need to create the Paradise Drink recipe.

How to Mix Paradise Drink

To make a Paradise Drink, combine the pineapple base syrup (above) with coconut milk and serve over ice. Garnish the top with dried pineapple pieces crumbled up.

This drink is so delicious. It’s my personal favorite out of all the Starbucks copycat recipes I have created. I hope you love it!

Tips for Making

  • To create a caffeine-free version, omit the green coffee extract.
  • To create a quicker version of this drink, you can replace the homemade syrup with store bought pineapple juice. It’s not as creamy, but it’s still refreshing.
  • You can substitute the citric acid for a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice if you prefer.
  • If this drink is too sweet for you, try using a lower ratio of syrup and a larger ratio of coconut milk and ice.
  • You can replace the coconut milk with cold water to make the Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher. It’s less of a rich and creamy drink and more refreshing and light.
