If you reside in the city, your living space is probably — well — let’s call it cozy. That’s a problem if you want to cycle, because there’s only so much stuff that can fit into a combination kitchen/living room/bedroom/office nook.

So, check out Priority’s new folding bike, the appropriately named Priority Folder.

“The Folder offers responsive ride quality, user-friendly folding mechanisms that are strong and durable, a telescoping seatpost and adjustable stem to accommodate a wide range of rider heights and inseams, a worry-free Gates Carbon Drive belt, and internally geared Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub that’s sealed from the elements,” Priority claims. “It’s an ideal option for intermodal commuters and recreational riders for whom storage space is a concern,” the company continues.

Peep the folded-up package and see if you agree.

The Folder unfolds in three steps, weighs 29 pounds, and is a compact 24 x 30 inches when folded. As previously noted, the Folder utilizes Priority’s signature carbon drive belt and internal gears, a combo that simplifies maintenance and increases the drive-train life span. The 20-inch wheels aren’t going to be great for super-chunky urban obstacles, but you knew that already.

“For many years now, we have had numerous requests for a ‘Priority’ take on a folding bicycle,” Dave Weiner, CEO at Priority Bicycles, noted in a press release. “What that meant was a bicycle that was durable, that you could feel confident in using every day, was easy to maintain, and delivered an enjoyable riding experience. Building around the right features, at the right price, was key.”

With aluminum construction and a step-over frame, plus built-in fenders and a rack, the Folder seems like it has the chops to be a winning daily rider for the right type of urban commuter. If that’s you, zip over to Priority’s website and place a preorder. Units are $799 MSRP and ship on September 29.
