In 2024, Radisson Hotel Group marked a significant milestone by signing agreements for 16 new hotels and resorts across Southeast Asia and the Pacific (SEAP). This strategic expansion reflects the Group’s dedication to harnessing the immense potential of this rapidly developing region, leveraging its extensive portfolio of 10 unique brands to cater to diverse traveler needs.

Looking ahead to 2025, Radisson Hotel Group is poised to unveil an exciting array of properties throughout SEAP. Notably, the Group plans to introduce three new Park Inn by Radisson hotels in the Philippines, a nation where this modern upper-midscale brand already enjoys market leadership. Additionally, the spotlight will shine on Indonesia and Malaysia, with ambitious plans to establish between 40 and 50 new hotels by 2030, underscoring the Group’s commitment to these vibrant markets. Furthermore, Radisson Hotel Group will reinforce its focus on key strategic markets, including Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand, ensuring a robust presence in regions that are central to its growth strategy.

Radisson Hotel Group’s unwavering confidence in the Asia Pacific region is rooted in a multitude of compelling factors. The region has seen a significant rise in intra-regional travel, paired with robust demand from key source markets such as India, the Middle East, and China. As a proud member of Jin Jiang International, the world’s second largest hotel chain, Radisson Hotel Group is exceptionally well-positioned to leverage the immense opportunities presented by the burgeoning Chinese travel market, which is anticipated to produce a staggering 200 million outbound tourists by 2028.

To effectively meet this anticipated surge in demand, the Group has diligently executed its comprehensive five-year action plan, resulting in landmark investments that have transformed various aspects of their operations. With a strong emphasis on customer-centricity, Radisson Hotel Group has innovatively tailored personalized online and app content for over 60 markets, leading to impressive increases in conversion and click-through rates.

In addition, guests can now enjoy a cutting-edge virtual experience, enabling them to explore hotels, rooms, and meeting spaces directly from their laptops, mobile devices, or even through virtual reality headsets. This technological integration not only enhances the guest experience but also sets a new standard in the hospitality industry.

Furthermore, the introduction of an enhanced human resources strategy and the establishment of the Radisson Academy have positioned Radisson Hotel Group as the preferred employer for skilled professionals in the hospitality sector. Their steadfast commitment to responsible business practices and sustainability is exemplified by the ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by the year 2050, underscoring their dedication to creating a positive impact on both the environment and the communities they serve.

“We can look back on 2024 with a great deal of satisfaction, and look forward to 2025 with a high degree of optimism. We have achieved several milestones this year, and it has been very exciting to see us introduce new brands to SEAP, including our inaugural Radisson RED and Radisson Collection hotels. As we leverage the benefits of our transformative five-year plan, our relationship with Jin Jiang International, and the vast growth potential of the Asia Pacific region, the coming years are set to be highly exciting for Radisson Hotel Group. We look forward to welcoming all guests to our expanding portfolio of hotels and resorts across the region,” said Tim Cordon, Chief Operating Officer, Middle East, Africa and South East Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group.

Cordon took up Chief Operating Officer in January 2024, alongside his existing role as COO for the Middle East & Africa (MEA). A key element of Radisson Hotel Group’s strategy to leverage its internal talent, Cordon brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the SEAP region. Having overseen the opening of 45 hotels in MEA over the last three years, he has already been instrumental in strengthening the Group’s market presence in SEAP. Cordon’s arrival has also included the expansion of several other key departments, such as HR, F&B, Revenue, Marketing and Procurement, as the company positions itself for future success.

This fresh impetus was also boosted by the arrival of Rob Collier as Managing Director for Future Openings, who has also expanded his successful MEA role to encompass SEAP and will now be instrumental in the growth of the Group’s portfolio across both these exciting regions. Following the arrival of Tim and Rob, Radisson Hotel Group has achieved several milestones. Radisson RED, the bold upper-upscale lifestyle brand, was introduced to SEAP with the launch of Radisson RED Danang, Vietnam, and will soon be complemented by Radisson RED Resort Phuket Patong, Thailand. Radisson Collection Galle, Sri Lanka, will mark the regional debut of this luxury lifestyle brand, followed by the launch of Radisson Blu Resort Hoi An, Vietnam, both in Q1 2025.
