Rail Europe Expands Group Bookings, Routes

Rail Europe has introduced a new product to expand its group booking services beyond its current key accounts and global sales agents, the company recently announced.

Dubbed RailGroupEasy, the offering enables travel agents who are outside of Rail Euorpe’s key accounts as well as corporate clients, schools and individual travelers to book for groups of 25 or more.

Those customers who have been serviced through Rail Europe’s key accounts and global sales agents can continue to use the company as they have previously for group bookings of 10 or more travelers.

“For corporate clients, businesses can now easily coordinate group rail travel for conferences, offsite meetings, team retreats and other events across Europe,” Rail Europe wrote in an email. “The service includes personalized support, dedicated booking assistance, flexible ticketing and additional options like a luggage porter service, where we can arrange for luggage to be collected directly from the hotel and delivered to the next destination hotel. Corporate groups also benefit from extra services such as catering and welcome arrangements.”

Rail Europe also last week announced increased coverage of rail travel in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Denmark in its partner solutions RailAPI, RailFlash and RailPortal.

The expansion will allow travel agencies and partners to access not only domestic Belgian rail services, but also connections between Belgium and each the Netherlands and Luxembourg, as well as new international routes in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Denmark, according to Rail Europe.

The Benelux region is a key hub for train travel in Europe due to its “central location, excellent rail connectivity and keen attention to sustainability,” according to Rail Europe. It also is a crossroads for high-speed train operators like Eurostar, Deutsche Bahn and SNCF. In addition, Amsterdam will introduce a new direct daytime link with Munich in mid-December, according to the company.
