Reed & Mackay is integrating carbon emission data from Squake into its booking, policy and approval tools, the travel management company announced.
The integration will enable travelers and travel bookers to compare carbon footprints of flights taking into consideration aircraft type, load factors and routing, as well as see hotel sustainability performance ratings and ground transportation offerings by fuel, engine and car type, according to the TMC. With the R&M/Approve policy and approval engine, travel managers also can set specific parameters and restrictions using the data.
The data “will allow our clients to further tailor their travel requirements to meet their sustainability goals and drive down their CO2 footprint,” Reed & Mackay CEO Fred Stratford said in a statement.
Squake, which launched in 2021 as part of Lufthansa’s Innovation hub, has developed a single API plug-in through which it can provide carbon calculations for travel based on national and international standards as well as provide mitigation options. ATG Travel Worldwide earlier this month was announced as the first TMC to connect to Squake’s platform to measure and offset travel emissions.
Reed & Mackay was acquired by TripActions in 2021 and continues to operate as a standalone brand.
