Renault Categorical upsets Dacia Sandero and Logan – Finest Promoting Vehicles Weblog

The Renault Express is the best-selling vehicle in Morocco in August.

All our thoughts are with the victims of the Moroccan earthquake.

In August, the new light vehicle market in Morocco returns to negative for the 5th time this year at -2.9% to 11,128 sales. This includes 9,666 Passenger Cars (-3.5%) and 1,460 Light Commercials (+0.8%). The PC year-to-date tally is now up just 0.2% year-on-year to 95,972. Dacia (-24.5%) once again endures a steep fall but easily stays on top of the brands charts with 21.9% of the market. In contrast Renault (+18.1%) is in outstanding shape and climbs to 15.6% share. Hyundai (-26.3%) freefalls buy remains in third place. In fact the entire Top 5 is identical to July and YTD, with Peugeot (+12.7%) and Volkswagen (+49%) in tow. Opel (+24.8%) retakes the 6th spot off Citroen (+4.2%). Other great performers below include Volvo (+81%) and Seat (+27.1%) with newcomer Cupra at #20. We welcome BYD in the charts with 7 sales.

Today we also have a Top 100 models ranking available for August (PC+LCV). The first surprise is the Renault Express outselling the traditional leaders: the Dacia Sandero is relegated to #2 and the Logan to #3. The Renault Clio advances to #4 vs. #6 over the Full Year 2022. It is followed by the Dacia Duster, Hyundai Tucson and Peugeot 208. The Opel Corsa is up two spots on FY2022 to #8 ahead of the Dacia Lodgy (running out of stock) and the VW T-Roc. The Toyota Hilux leads the pickup race at #11, distancing the Mitsubishi L200 (#22), Hyundai H100 (#23), DFSK K01H (#38) and K01S (#39).
