Sabre has signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Icelandic low-cost carrier Play as the carrier plans to grow its transatlantic network. Play currently flies to 40 destinations in North America and Europe via its Reykjavik hub—including recently added Toronto and Washington, D.C.—and plans further expansion, such as new service to Aalborg, Denmark, launching in June 2025. Sabre’s distribution agreement with Play “is part of our broader strategy to expand low-cost carrier content in the Sabre travel marketplace in 2024 and beyond, helping agencies seamlessly access the diverse travel options their customers demand,” Sabre VP of airline distribution Alessandro Ciancimino said in a statement.
