Oh my God!!! Let’s goooo! Ahhhhhhh! The screams of pure adrenaline are recognizable anywhere, but especially in snowboarding. And, especially in the spirit of landing a massive jump like this one: the iconic Ravine Gap from “The Art of Flight” (2018) film, created by Curt Morgan and Travis Rice, and filmed in the Tetons of Jackson, Wyoming; the Tordrillo Mountains of Alaska; and other now-iconic snowy locales.
Ben and Sage each take a few practice laps on the Ravine Gap booter, and then get down to business. And in the last 10 seconds of the video, when they land it, you’ll know it. There’s claps and cheers and screams, but noticeable most of all is their blown-away gazes as everyone glances back at the massive jump just accomplished. A 130-foot backcountry jump, to be exact.
Unlike “The Art of Flight,” however, there’s no fancy production, no tunes, no electrifying soundtrack. No GoPro shots, no heli shots, just some sled-assisted, hand-built, heavy session riding by two younger (under 30) icons. Pure, raw, dialed shredding.
