Save a whole lot of {dollars} on the whole lot from Hilton stays to Disney reward playing cards this week in your Amex playing cards

We are in the midst of American Express Member Week, and unlike some other widely promoted but ultimately underwhelming deal events, this one is legit — especially if you like saving money on some popular brand-name items.

By timing my purchases to this particular week, the odds are quite high that I will save more than $100 on things I would’ve bought anyway, such as Disney gift cards, Vuori joggers and Nintendo games (hello, stocking stuffers). Here are some top offers from this Amex Member Week and how to make the most of them.

Note that you may have somewhat different offers on your Amex cards, and you should check each card individually; my small-business cards had different available offers than my personal cards. You need to enroll in each offer individually by Friday and then use that card by the deadline for each offer to trigger the credit. Essentially, these work much like regular Amex Offers — there’s just a great lineup this week.

$100 Delta voucher

If you have a Delta Air Lines cobranded American Express credit card, you can potentially claim a $100 eCredit voucher as part of Amex Member Week. To do so, you must book a round-trip international Delta flight originating in the U.S. by Friday. The flight must be for travel by March 24, 2024, with some date restrictions.

Here are the full details of this offer.

Save $80 on Hilton stays

If you book a stay directly with Hilton, you can get a one-time $80 statement credit by using an enrolled card. The purchase must be for $200 or more on room rates and room charges at select Hilton brands in the U.S. or U.S. territories through Dec. 31. The eligible brands for this offer include the Curio Collection by Hilton, Canopy by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Motto by Hilton and Tempo by Hilton.

Assuming a stay that comes in right at $200, that’s an impressive 40% off your Hilton night, thanks to this offer.

Save $60 on Hertz rentals

With this offer, you can get a $60 statement credit on a Hertz rental of $200 or more booked directly with Hertz; the rental must take place by Nov. 8.

When weighing if it makes sense to use this statement credit, consider any car rental protections you have with this card versus other cards. Still, if you use this card, that is a solid 30% discount on that $200 spent.

Save $50 at Dell

Don’t discount this deal just because you might not be in the market for a Dell computer right now.

Dell sells all sorts of other items, such as Nintendo games and accessories. Those with the twice-yearly Dell credit on The Business Platinum Card® from American Express likely already know that, but if you aren’t familiar, browse the Dell website.

Since you can get a $50 statement credit with a minimum of $100 or more in Dell purchases by Wednesday, this might be the key to ordering some video games to stash away for holiday presents. It’s a 50% discount if you order exactly $100 worth.

Save $30 at Vuori

I’ll admit it: I’m absolutely obsessed with Vuori’s DreamKnit fabric, which is the perfect weight and softness for travel.

I had planned to put a pair of Vuori’s Performance Joggers under my tree this year, so getting $30 back on a minimum $100 purchase is a good way to do that. Shipping is free on orders of more than $75, which works out well, too. If you are new to Vuori, you can also get a 20% discount on your first order, which should stack just fine with this (as long as the amount ultimately charged to your Amex is more than $100).

How I plan to save $50 on Disney gift cards

This one is a little more nuanced, but one of the offers on my Amex small-business card is a $50 statement credit on more than $200 in purchases at Lowe’s (in-store or online) made by Wednesday. I may need more traditional things from Lowe’s for holiday decor and outdoor solar lights, but many Lowe’s stores also have a very nice gift card rack.

Specifically, there are often Disney gift cards. This credit could be a great way to save a little on a holiday trip to Disney World.

Save $25 at Hydro Flask

Finally, you can get a $25 statement credit with more than $55 in one or more online Hydro Flask purchases by Wednesday. That’s a pretty hefty discount for some popular water bottles you could use for travel, workouts and the office. You could stack this by shopping the already-discounted Hydro Flask sale section to snag a decent return for your dollars.

Bottom line

We’ve seen some underwhelming offers from different brands that hype a limited-time sale, discount or member appreciation week. This is not like that.

The current Amex Member Week has some legitimate offers you can add to your eligible Amex cards. It could help you get a jump-start on discounted holiday shopping or save on upcoming travel expenses. Like with most things, the more creatively and broadly you think about the offers, the more likely you will find a way to make this opportunity work for you.
