Seattle is already bursting with great art experiences, from galleries to museums to performance halls and neighborhood clubs, from theatres to festivals and art in public places. And then, for four days each summer, there’s an additional opportunity to experience exhibitions from more than 80 galleries all under one roof, along with compelling programming and special presentations.
It’s Seattle Art Fair, and we’re so happy to welcome it back for a seventh year from July 27-30 at Lumen Field Event Center.

The Fair has become a destination for locals and visitors, both serious collectors and those who just enjoy seeing the wide variety of art from galleries located around the globe. Founded in 2015 by Paul G. Allen, the Seattle Art Fair is now owned and produced by Art Market Productions. The 2023 exhibitors include galleries from Japan, Korea, Italy, Argentina, Iran, England, Canada, India, Germany, and Spain. Nationally, you’ll find galleries based in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, Oakland, and at least a dozen from Seattle.

My attendance tips? Go more than once!
I recommend you go more than once to take it all in. I typically attend the opening on Thursday night for the festive party atmosphere, but return again for a full day to browse all the art. Make sure to take a break for a snack or drink, wear comfortable shoes, and create some sort of methodical approach to see the 80+ exhibitors, as well as the cultural partner booths. Don’t be shy about engaging with the galleries, ask questions and learn more about the art that appeals to you.

More art? Yes!
But wait, there’s more art! Once at the Art Fair you’ll be quite near the new cultural space at King Street Station, which is exhibiting an impressive 50 year retrospective of highlights from the City of Seattle’s public art program through September 7. It’s open Wednesday through Saturday and admission is free. Forest for the Trees is also planning more art at the nearby Railspur Building.
